How Detection Works

How Detection Works

Let's make sure you have the correct expectations about how snore detection works.

1- You can not test Nora by pretending to snore.
Our algorithm is fine-tuned to only detect natural snores that happen during sleep. Nora listens for snores before they wake up the partner. This includes texture of the sound, repetition, correct length, and silence between the snores.

2- It takes 3 consecutive light snores to activate Nora.
Nora listens for the transition from breathing to snoring. When we hear 3 consecutive light snores, the pump is activated to reduce the snoring before it wakes up the partner.

3- Once a Snore is detected, there is a 1 minute cycle of inflation and deflation.

When the pillow insert starts moving, you need to wait for a full minute before it will inflate again. This is by design. The gentle motion will interrupt and reduce the snoring. If snoring continues then another 1 minute cycle starts.
