Customization is key
The key to getting best results with Nora is customization. You can make Nora more sensitive to lighter snore sounds by pressing the (+) button on the Pebble and moving the green LED light closest to the (+) button.

Excessive noise in your environment can effect the snore detection
Do not place the Pebble close to sources of noise such as a fan, AC vents, white noise machine, or radio. If you have such a device in your bedroom, put the Pebble on the side of the snorer, and keep the noisy device on the opposite side of the bed.
How snore detection works
Let's make sure you have the correct expectations about how snore detection works.
1- You can not test Nora by pretending to snore.
Our algorithm is fine-tuned to only detect natural snores that happen during sleep. Nora listens for snores before they wake up the partner. This includes texture of the sound, repetition, correct length, and silence between the snores.
2- It takes 3 consecutive light snores to activate Nora.
Nora listens for the transition from breathing to snoring. When we hear 3 consecutive light snores, the pump is activated to reduce the snoring before it wakes up the partner.
3- Once a Snore is detected, there is a 1 minute cycle of inflation and deflation.
When the pillow insert starts moving, you need to wait for a full minute before it will inflate again. This is by design. The gentle motion will interrupt and reduce the snoring. If snoring continues then another 1 minute cycle starts.
Now, with the knowledge of how Nora detects snoring, let's ensure you have the correct setup.
Confirm Correct Setup
Check for Solid White lights on the Pebble and Base.
If you see a green and white flash, it means batteries are still charing. Your device is ok to use.
If instead of solid white light you see flashing Blue, or flashing Red lights, follow the instructions in help centre.
Solid White Light.
Manually test for an inflation and deflation to confirm the correct setup.
Turn the Pebble and Base ON, each showing a solid white light.
Press (do not hold) the Bluetooth button.
You will see a short white blinking light on the Pebble and Base. And then the 1 minute inflation and deflation cycle begins. This confirms that your device is working correctly.
If you hear the pump but don't see the motion check the troubleshoot section.
Press Bluetooth Button for Inflation test
Test detection with a real snore audio sample from a laptop speaker.
Note: you can not correctly run this test from a phone or tablet. Nora detects lower frequencies of the snore that can only be reproduced with larger speakers.
a) Place the laptop where your head would normally be placed. Less than 3 feet away from the Pebble.
b) Turn both Pebble and Base ON with solid white lights.
c) Play the snore audio attached below at reasonable volume that sounds similar to your level of snoring in real life.
d) Observe the Inflation and deflation of the pillow insert.
